Twin Suns

We’re all pretty jazzed about the future of Star Wars right now. Clone Wars has been hitting it out of the park. The next trilogy looks to be off to a great start with an award winning writer doing the script, a great director, and the man who wrote my favorite movie of all time (Empire Strikes Back), Lawrence Kasdan as a “consultant” while he’s writing a Star Wars movie of his own. It’s exciting. Rumors are flying wild, but just about all of them sound great to me. I’d love to see an Old Republic movie. I’d love to see a Force Unleashed, especially since Sam Witwer would be on board with it. It’ll be interesting to see what they do with TV as well. An X-Wing TV series would be perfect for television, especially if they used the book series as a guide. The wall around our beloved franchise has been torn down and whole new possibilities have opened up, so we felt this classic pose of Luke gazing up at the twin suns of Tatooine, dreaming about what might be, was apt. Shawn drew this as a quick exercise and I think it came out pretty good.

J.R. Broadwater is the author and Shawn Skvarna is the cover artist of the non-fiction book Down with the Thickness: Viewing the World From a Fat Guy’s Perspective,  the sci-fi detective novel You Only Die Twice, and the fantasy novel The Chosen: Rebirthing Part 1- all available now in digital and paperback formats. Sample chapters and more information about these books can be found here.
