This is more for the other indie authors out there but if anyone else has two cents they’d like to add it’d be great. How are you promoting your books? What are some of the marketing tools you’ve been using to get your name out there? We’ve been struggling the past few months to promote our books, and I gotta tell you, it’s rough. I knew going in it would be a long, rough road, but you hear those success stories floating around the net and in the back of your mind you’re thinking “Yep, that’ll be me!” Not really… Everywhere I’ve looked I’ve been told that social networking is the way to go. I’ve been promoting with Twitter and Facebook but I refuse to just spam for the sake of spamming. We’ve been promoting on Goodreads as well. I actually purchased ads for both books and we’ve gotten a few responses for Clay Colt but I’m just wondering what else we could be doing shy of buying actual ad space on websites, which we can’t afford. I know that once we get into our comic stuff it’ll be a bit easier to promote. Comics are a visual medium, and it’s easier to garner interest when you throw up some panels with pretty art. Promoting books is more difficult because you have to grab people’s attention and get them to actually read, which a lot of times people just don’t have the time to do. Anyway, just thought I’d throw this out there and see what kind of response I might get. I could use any tips you other indie pros might have to offer.

Paperback Release of Down With the Thickness and Other News
Hello folks!
I’ve had a few requests from people to release a “hard” copy of the book as opposed to digital, so me and my team are working hard to comply. We’re hoping to have a paperback version of the release ready to order in the next few days. I’ll be sure to post here as soon as it’s available. We’ll also plan on having both a paperback and digital version of our books from now on. The digital copy will always be cheaper, because I think it’s silly to pay the same price for a file as you do something that you hold in your hands and have to wait to receive. I also promise I’ll do my best to keep the prices of these paperback versions of the books as affordable as possible. We’re shooting to release You Only Die Twice, our first fiction novel, sometime next month. You can check out a short blurb about that under our “books” page. I’ll have a sample chapter available for you to check out next week. I really appreciate all of the support everyone has shown. Please continue to spread the word, and don’t forget to head over to the Amazon page and write a review when you get a chance.

Get Down With the Thickness!
Okay boys and girls, assuming everything goes right and there isn’t any hitches that need to be fixed by 3 A.M. or so Down With the Thickness should be available for purchase on the Amazon Kindle store for all English speaking countries. It should be available world-wide in the next 24-48 hours (it takes that long for translation). I’ll probably post this again, only with more gusto, tomorrow when it’s official and available. But please, pick up a copy, tell your friends, have them tell their friends. Please help get the word out. It’ll only be $0.99. You can read it on basically any electronic device known to man (there’s an app for that). You spend more for a pack of gum or an item on the dollar menu at McDonald’s and I’d like to think you’d get more out of my book.
